Abstract

Research for this project come from the “Black 80’s” archives. Alongside complimentary lit review, we gained insights into the impact of social movements of the 80s politics and life at large. Ties were drawn between social movements, providing context to the levels of success of change movements in previous time periods up until the present. The 80s can be understood as a turning point for Black Americans, and findings inform this era as extremely consequential in the narrative for social justice in America.
