Abstract

How can companies improve their corporate culture?

Companies are finding that one of the best ways to reduce employee turnover and increase productivity is to better their corporate culture.  This can be done by creating a fun and functional work environment that includes dedicated management.  In this thesis we elaborate on four alternative solutions used to improve the culture of a company.  The first option is providing employees with work amenities and facilities, such as on-site daycare and concierge service. The second option is providing employees with incentives and rewards for their work and effort.  Third is creating managerial and employee job support.  The fourth alternative is enhancing the work environment with the appropriate decor. Although each alternative has an abundance of pros and cons in the workplace, after extensive research the data suggests that creating managerial and employee job support seems to be the most adequate and successful solution. Secondary data from books, internet sites, articles, and scholarly journals was collected to perform this analysis.  This study should be useful for organizations hoping to improve their efficacy and morale.
