Abstract

The purpose of this project was to re-define a specific area within the Richard Bong Recreation Area so that it was unified with the rest of the space.  The front entryway of any business establishes a tone for the entire establishment, so it was important that the redesign encompassed the goals and mission of the Bong Recreation Area which are to connect visitors with nature and educate them on the importance of protecting and preserving wildlife. A key factor in using their mission as a guideline was to brainstorm with appropriate decor materials in mind.

The design for the space was created using several methods of brainstorming, visiting the site, sketching ideas on paper, communicating with other project groups for design consistency, and creating digital design plans using Adobe Photoshop.  At the conclusion of the project the client was very pleased with the design and intends to use it to renovate the space in the future.
