Abstract

How does one move from sin to salvation? Luckily for readers, Dante offers a divine roadmap to get us there. Inferno's meditation on the human condition, and what sort of actions one can take to become more like the divine is the central concern driving the work. How can a lost soul regain its grace through a pilgrimage? Dante’s search for the answer in his quest is a significant point of interest in the book. If the rational choice in life is to not rely on the intellect to understand matters of the divine, why does faith matter? It matters because this exploration of the purpose of faith remains at the heart of the human condition, and of course, Western Heritage.
