Abstract

When people go to a professional sporting game, are they more interested in the fun promotions or do they like to sit and watch the game without distractions? Game-day experiences have changed with advances in technology to keep up with the times. The NFL is giving people the best of both worlds. The technology that stadiums have and all of the extra entertainment they provide fans are constantly changing. When fans go to a professional sporting event, there are fun promotions, gaming apps for their phone, side bets, statistics, and the jumbotron. Stadiums have to compete to stay current and have a plan for the future, because of their competitors. The impact that technology has on the sports industry, specifically the NFL, greatly changes the game-day experiences for fans.

The future of the NFL has been strong, and they want to include fans in parts of the action to keep a constant connection. There are instant replays as well as play reviews during the game so fans can see what happened and get engaged with that information. Large video boards are an essential element in today’s stadiums because fans can see them from every seat in the stadium. Having the individual fan experience in mind plays a large role to ensure a bond between the NFL and the fan.
