has found way to join her interests in both education and finance as an Oklahoma State University state Extension specialist in personal finance.
Wang's primary focus areas include educating women about finances, teaching others about financial planning for retirement, and the economic aspects of aging.
“Financial planning is very important. I believe some people don’t have a solid financial plan because they simply don’t know how to do it,” Wang said. “I love working in Extension because of the outreach possibilities and helping people better understand the importance of financial planning. Through Extension, we have the opportunity to make connections with people and make their lives better.”
Wang said she enjoys conducting research and is interested in how people, particularly women and caregivers, can apply the research findings to improve their lives.

I learned how to be punctual, accountable, empathic and a respectful human being. When I became older, I was given the opportunity to teach all these skills I had learned to kids following my footsteps. —
Menomonee Falls, WI,
Desiree graduated Carthage College in 2013 with a BA in Psychology and a dual minor in Creative Writing and Japanese. Since graduating, she has published three books. The first is a realistic fiction novel about human trafficking called Kaleidoscope A Journey to Hope. It follows the journey of four trafficked girls that are trying to escape and restart their lives. The second is Winning the Silent Battle Exposing 8 Lies Hindering Your Mental Health. In this book Desiree shares her struggles with perfectionism, anxiety, self injury ideation and addiction, along with her faith and how she’s been able to break free. Her third book, Broken Chapters, is a faith based memoir written by 21 men and women. Each share a time in their lives when they have been in a place of pain and hopelessness and God intervened bringing them hope and restoration. In addition to writing, Desiree led a writing group for two years where she encouraged and coached others into writing their stories in various mediums. Doing this inspired her to start King’s Glory Publishing House. This company turns Kingdom men and women from being would be writers into Scribal Champions who manage to write, publish and market their work across multiple channels. The company offers three tiers including book coaching, editing and marketing. While Desiree is continuing to do her own writing, she is excited to help more people write their stories and flood the marketplace with Kingdom values.
